A Week of Prayer
Monday 1st September – Sunday 7th September
The leaders of our local churches are pleased to be able to offer a
Week of Prayer to the local community. Across our neighbourhoods the witness of the church remains central through our ministry in the community. Daily prayer is a great Christian tradition which has sustained the work of churches since the time of Christ. How we pray and what we pray for is inspired within us by God’s Holy Spirit, who leads us in pray in both words and silence.
‘When you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.’ (Jeremiah 29:12)
As Christians, we seek to serve in the name of Christ, being sometimes very active in our communities, yet sometimes quiet, reflective and prayerful in our churches. At the beginning of what may be a busy Autumn season, this week is a chance to give a priority of prayer, before all of the activity to come.
