Impossible Situations

Reflections upon the Cross for the Season of Lent (see below to read)

Impossible Situations Graphic

This Lent season Revd’s Chris and Justin would like to offer a series of reflections entitled ‘Impossible Situations’.  Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 14th February.

In our lives, communities and countries we can feel as if we are surrounded by ever more impossible situations that defy peace and understanding.  As Christians we may also feel led by our faith to pray and support some of the troubled regions and issues of the world, where conflict, poverty and inequality are part of daily life.  We may feel powerless to know how to pray or how to respond at all.

Over six weeks of Lent Chris and Justin would like to offer a weekly reflection on how some of these impossibilities can be considered alongside the passion of Christ, the cross and resurrection.  Our aim is not to provide pat and innocent solutions, but rather to take a little further our Christian understanding that Christ suffered and died for us all.

The reflections will begin on Ash Wednesday - 14th February - at the evening service at 7:00pm.  Thereafter the reflections will be provided each Wednesday on the parish website, weekly, email and as printed versions to collected in the churches, or sent out in our weekly postal packs to the housebound.

Please see click on the reflections to read, as they are added each week.
