Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
Thy Kingdom Come Guildford beacon event is back for another year! sunday 9 June 2019. Featuring speaker Pete Greig, contemporary worship, prayer vigil and picnic and outside activities this is one not to miss!
No need to book – just show up for as much as you would like! Please note there will only be parking at the cathedral for blue badge holders. All others should park as directed on the University of Surrey campus (about a 10 min walk).
16:00 – 18:00: Festival!
An opportunity to gather together outside the cathedral for a picnic, food stalls will be available and entertainment. Featuring live music from Red House Blues, Motivation by Music Gospel Choir and a live theatrical production from Manna Ministries.
18:00 – 19:00: Contemporary Worship
Led by the soon to be Bishop of Southampton, Debbie Sellin, the diocese will gather together in praise for a time of contemporary worship with a talk by Pete Greig.
19:00 – 23:00: Prayer Vigil
From 19:00 onwards there will be an opportunity to join in prayer, led by the Bishops of Guildford and Dorking. There will be opportunity for some creative responses.
