The Bell Tower and Bells
‘Ring out the darkness of the land’ – ‘Ring in the Christ that is to be’
(quotations from Tennyson’s In Memoriam inscribed on the treble and second bells installed in 1908)
The Bell Tower is 13th Century, the oldest part of the Church. Originally there were five bells which have been increased over the centuries to the ring of 10 we have today.
The parish is proud of its enthusiastic and talented Bell Ringing group. Practices take place at St Bartholomew’s every Monday evening at 8:00pm.
