Growing the Vision Weekend

18th May 2018 19:00 18th May 2018 12:00 Europe/London Growing the Vision Weekend

GVW Flyer & Registration Form In January 2018 we asked our congregations What is your dream for our parish and/or What is the one thing you would like to see in the parish vision that would be meaningful to you? Almost all responses expressed a desire to draw in and support the wider community by becoming more visible, welcoming and attractive to all segments of Haslemere, with a particular emphasis on families, while we follow Jesus and develop in our own faith.  This brought to mind the parable of the mustard seed which has inspired our proposed vision statement together in Christ, growing in faith, serving in love and logo. The mustard tree is our parish. The root of this tree is Jesus who gives us the love, strength and guidance to grow.  The trunk of the tree is the worship that fuels our energy to support the people in our community whom Jesus is calling. The branches are made up of individuals in the parish, arranged according to the various ministries and activities that make each branch distinct.  The shape of this tree is uniquely us.  It is formed by the gifts that each of us have been given spiritually and materially and how we share these gifts with the church.  It is formed by how well we work together as a community and how deeply rooted we are in Christ. The purpose of this weekend is to explore the branches and discern where we are called to grow and where we are called to prune.  It is to enjoy each others’ company and have fun, as we hope to discover what it is to be together in Christ, growing in faith, serving in love.
