St Bartholomew’s Memorial Wall

The Parish church has had a Memorial Wall in place for a number of years, located in the churchyard of St Bartholomew’s. This is available for relatives of those whose ashes are interred in St Bartholomew’s Garden of Remembrance to affix a plaque in their memory. Should you wish to consider this, please contact the Parish Office as detailed at the foot of this page.

St Christopher’s Memorial Wall

For some years, members of St Christopher’s congregation have expressed interest in having a Memorial Wall, there having been no means of marking the interment of ashes in its Garden of Remembrance. Over the period to late Spring 2011, such a Wall has been constructed on the north-west side of the church. Some pictures are shown of the finished Wall. The simple design provides a low retaining wall to enclose the Memorial Wall area and two wooden seats. There is a recessed gully against the base of the Wall to accept flowers/similar at the time of ashes interment or anniversary. There are three rendered panels and plaques will be fixed to them. The plaques will be 6” x 4” (150mm x 100mm), landscape, and made of bronze, with raised cast lettering in ‘Times New Roman’ typeface. The wording on the plaques is subject to prior agreement.
As a first task, a small working party is currently engaged in establishing contact names and addresses for the relatives of those whose ashes are already interred in the Garden of Remembrance. When this work is complete, they will be approached to enquire if they would wish to purchase a plaque for their loved one. It is expected that letters will be sent out in the early Autumn. If you are a relative of anyone whose ashes are interred in the Garden, and you do not think we will know of your existence, please contact us
